Too many links in your Email Signature line?

I attended a great social media meetup on Saturday which was lead by Mike O’Neil and Lori Ruff from Integrated Alliances . They brought up a great point that many people miss when creating signature lines for their emails.  You do want a descriptive signature line and want to encourage people to research you and contact you to grow your network and business.  One issue that comes up with some of the modern spam filters is the number of embedded links in an email.  If the number is too large , sometimes as few as 3-4 the email will be marked as spam and your customers or potential clients won’t see your emails.  Typically you have a link to your website as well as your return email link so you have already used up 2 slots and if you want to include a link in the text you are now perilously close to your limit.  So if you want to advertise your web presence like Linked-in , Facebook, Twitter or your blogs how do you do that without adding even more links.  There are two pretty cool options.  They are Social Oomph and It’s my URL’s. There are other offerings that allow you to create a Social Business Card like about.me , tungle.me and WiseStamp I Wisestamp for my email signature lines and about.me for my Social Business Card.  Both create incredible professional offerings.   I can add all my links like linked in, facebook, twitter, etc to the list at the site and use one link to direct people to all the places I can be found on the web.   I use this in my email signature line as well as on my WordPress Website and Blog.    Also when I add a new way to disseminate information I can add it to my profile and everyone can find it.  I hope you will check these out and see if they might be of some use to you.  Also try sending emails to some of your friends on different systems and see if you end up in their spam filter.  Companies like Google and Yahoo change their spam filters on a regular basis so check early and often.  Also make sure you test with people who have not already added you to their non spam list.  I use my own set of accounts to test this every few months.
